Executive Director, Paul Seader Chaired IQPC, Hedge Fund Operations and Compliance Conference FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Garden City, NY: Paul Seader , Executive Director of the Hedge Fund & Private Equity Resource Center , (HFPE) chaired the Hedge Fund Operations and Compliance Conference in Stamford , Connecticut on October 1-3, 2007. With nearly $2 trillion in managed assets, the hedge fund industry attracts institutional and sophisticated investors who demand transparency, accountability and due diligence. The Hedge Fund Operations and Compliance Conference features noted industry experts as well as federal and state regulators who will explain how to improve client reporting, manage information confidentiality, avoid potential conflicts of interest, overcome challenges in the valuation process, and minimize fund operational risks. In addition to chairing the two-day conference, Mr. Seader discussed current international pressure for more formal, comprehensive and uniform oversight of the hedge fund industry. Mr. Seader has amassed substantial expertise in financial institution regulation and compliance. For 13 years he served as counsel at American Express Company, most recently as Assistant General Counsel, where he managed the legislative and regulatory affairs and real estate functions. During his tenure at American Express he chaired an enterprise wide compliance task force that undertook a comprehensive review of virtually all compliance policies and procedures on a world wide basis. As a result of an 18 month effort, the company's compliance program was substantially revamped and a new Code of Conduct was implemented.
